Newsletter for September

We are all looking forward to our next art and singing sessions which start at the beginning of October. We have had nine new referrals from local health practitioners, and a good number are attending again for the follow on group. We will be at the Dr Peter Centre on Tuesday afternoons for six weeks, now using a larger space as demand has grown. Our singing group continues with a small enthusiastic core and we are now incorporating a session by Folk Active who were a great hit with their penny whistles last term.

Other plans for this Autumn include sone mini exhibitions of the work of PATV at the local GP practices. Look out for the displays at Alma Road, Abbeywell, Nightingale, and North Baddesley in the coming months which will include lovely work produced by some of our participants.

There has been quite a lot of publicity about social prescribing recently. Dr. Mark Porter featured it on Radio 4 ‘s Inside Health https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0bd8h7b

This is very exciting for us and hopefully will result in increased awareness of our work but means we need some more volunteers and potential facilitators to help us run our groups.

Are you artistic and creative? Do you have good listening skills and enjoy supporting others in a facilitating and non-judgmental way? We would love to hear from you!

We also need volunteers to help with administration and supporting our group at events. In addition someone with PR skills and fundraising expertise would be useful.

We are a friendly, caring group and we try and keep meetings and bureaucracy to a minimum.

If you would like to know more and think you may have something to offer, we would love to hear from you.
