We are so pleased that our singing group under Kim Garner’s leadership is now really flourishing and we now have a core of enthusiastic singers. They channelled their inner Julie Andrews during the last few weeks culminating in performing to an appreciative audience of PATV artists, volunteers, Trustees and friends. My Favourite Things!

Studies show that singing improves mood, with a decrease in stress, depression and anxiety. These effects are often attributed to the deeper breathing associated with singing, that is also used in meditation. Singing in a group offers us a sense of belonging to something bigger than ourselves. The hardest thing is having to break for a few weeks but we will be starting again on 23 rd April. Come and join us!

Our mini exhibitions have had been on display at most of the local GP practices and we have experienced an increase in enquiries as a result. Their next destination is in Forum 5 at the Solent Business Park where we have been asked to run a stress relieving art workshop in their foyer..

On February 19th PATV was invited to have a stand at the Abbotswood Community Centre event. We ended up with a table of doodlers young and old. It was lovely to meet some of the residents from Abbotswood Care Home and some children from the local community on half term holiday. We are planning to be part of a bigger event at Abbotswood on May 25th. Watch this space!

I attended the Romsey and Chandlers Ford Round Table great giveaway . This great group of enthusiastic people fundraise all winter and give out the proceeds to local charities. What an amazing community we have! It was lovely to talk to some of the other groups and hear their stories. PATV were honoured to receive a cheque for £500. Thank you chaps!

And just when it couldn’t get any better we have received a £200 donation from the Royal Gloucester Freemasons Lodge. Our grateful thanks to them.

We will be holding our first AGM on Friday 26th April at 1130 at the White Horse, Romsey. Everyone is welcome. If you would like to find out more about us come along and meet the team.
